Latest Grades are online. Graders discretion has come into play in both Seniors and very much Juniors. Drivers who have raced on Day licences only have been taken out of the Senior Grades as it throws things out. Their points are still recorded but they will not show up on the grading list. I have spoken with Matthew this morning regarding race formats at Scunthorpe. We currently have 36 Seniors and 9 Juniors booked to race. We need 1 more Junior to avoid them being dropped, so if you know anyone who is under 16 and has already completed their ORCi test (with us or another formula) please get them to book in or do a kart share for the day. Following an incident at Buxton Raceway on Saturday 4th July, severe disciplinary action has been taken against a driver for a serious breach of safety during a race stoppage. During the stoppage, whilst the track had been declared safe and officials and paramedics were attending to an injured driver, a driver had their chain refitted by an on-track official and was instructed to park on the middle. 5 Karts have sold in the past 4 weeks, 3 of them to Juniors who will be out at some point during the season. It has come to light over the past two meetings at Cowdenbeath and Buxton that there appears to be an issue with the latest batch of plug-ins supplied. Unfortunately, several drivers have experienced plug-ins snapping or breaking for no obvious reason. Following closer inspection, although the welds visually appear acceptable, it would seem that the weld penetration into the tube itself may not have been sufficient.
