STOXKARTS

ABOUT STOXKARTS
UK short oval contact racing for Juniors and Seniors.
Built on equal equipment and close competition.

WHAT IS STOXKARTS
Stoxkarts is a UK short oval contact racing formula for Junior and Senior drivers, using the same purpose-built steel chassis, with full roll cages, bumpers and controlled components.
A Stoxkart is not a traditional go-kart. It is a compact short oval stock car designed for contact racing.
Built around equal equipment with all karts built to the same specification and sealed Honda GX390 engines, this creates a consistent, structured format where all drivers compete with the same equipment.

Short Oval Tracks
Raced on shale and tarmac short oval tracks across the UK.
Standard Specification
All karts are built to the same core specification.

WHAT MAKES STOXKARTS DIFFERENT?

One thing that makes Junior and Senior Stoxkarts completely different from many other formulas is that the costs are intentionally controlled from the start.
The formula is designed so families can go racing without needing huge budgets, engineering knowledge, large workshops, or endless setup development.
Everything is built around equal equipment and driver ability over spending power.
All Stoxkarts feature:
-
sealed and dyno-tested engines
-
tagged and controlled components
-
virtually no setup adjustments
-
no suspension development
-
no expensive shock absorbers
-
no complex steering systems
-
no expensive differentials
-
no expensive gearboxes
-
no complicated cooling systems
-
no constant gearing changes
-
no tyre prep
-
no wheel rim offsets to play with
You do not need:
-
fancy scales
-
endless setup data
-
specialist engineering
-
large garages
-
transporters
-
expensive tow vehicles
A Stoxkart can be stored in a normal shed or small garage and transported behind most family cars or inside a standard van.
Tyres last for seasons rather than meetings, and because the formula is tightly controlled, there is no endless development race trying to buy performance.
No matter how much money somebody spends, there is no advantage to gain.
That is intentional.
The focus is placed firmly on:
-
driver ability
-
racecraft
-
confidence
-
consistency
-
close competitive racing
For families without motorsport experience or welding equipment, approved repairers and support within the formula also help remove much of the pressure and technical worry that can exist elsewhere.
There is no need to carry a mountain of spares, as there is always a support vehicle fully stocked at every meeting.
One thing that is also important to mention is that Stoxkarts generally hold their value extremely well on the second-hand market.
Because the formula is tightly controlled and there is very little development, older equipment does not suddenly become obsolete every season.
That means buying a Stoxkart is a relatively low-risk investment compared to many forms of motorsport.
If a driver tries the formula for several meetings and decides racing is not for them, Stoxkarts are usually straightforward to resell, meaning families can often recover much of their original outlay.
Stoxkarts was never designed to be a cheque-book formula.
It was designed to provide competitive, exciting oval racing with realistic and sustainable costs.

SHORT OVAL CONTACT RACING
Racing takes place on UK short oval tracks, on both shale and tarmac.
It follows traditional stock car racing, where controlled contact is permitted.
Drivers are expected to race hard and fair with respect.
Everything is governed by clear rules and the watchful eye of Stoxkarts officials.
It’s straightforward to get into, but difficult to do well.
To be competitive, drivers need:
-

Control
-
Track craft
-
Confidence
-
Mechanical sympathy
-
Respect

JUNIOR & SENIOR RACING
Stoxkarts is for anyone looking to get into short oval racing.
From complete beginners Junior or Senior to experienced drivers who want competitive racing without the cost and commitment of other formulas.
Juniors is where most drivers start.
For ages 11–16, it’s a controlled introduction to short oval contact racing, focused on learning how to race properly.
Drivers build confidence, learn to handle traffic and develop racecraft before moving up.
It also builds respect, for other drivers and officials and the right attitude on and off the track, as well as making new friends along the way.
Seniors is open to both new drivers and those with previous racing experience.
For many, it’s a hobby, competitive on track, without taking it too seriously.
It’s about competitive racing, with respect for other drivers, and a strong family atmosphere in the pits.
Hard racing on track. Respect off it.
