How the Two Thirds System Works in Stoxkarts.

When we have more than 36 drivers booked in, we use the two thirds system to manage the meeting and keep the racing fair and organised.

How the Groups Are Formed

All drivers from:

  • Yellow

  • Blue

  • Red

  • Superstar

are split into three groups:

Group A / Group B / Group C

This is done using the opening grading list.

Drivers are allocated in order, rotating through the groups.

Example:

  • Group A – 38

  • Group B – 173

  • Group C – 22

  • Group A – 357

  • Group B – 380

  • Group C – 4

  • Group A – 8

  • Group B – 82

  • Group C – 129

…and so on down the grading list.

Heat Format

We run three heats, with an extra race added to accommodate the numbers.

Each heat includes two groups plus all white tops.

  • Heat 1: Group A + Group B + White Tops

  • Heat 2: Group B + Group C + White Tops

  • Heat 3: Group C + Group A + White Tops

White Tops

All white tops race in all three heats.

This guarantees:

  • Equal track time

  • Maximum opportunity to qualify

Feature Final

All graded drivers from:

  • Yellow

  • Blue

  • Red

  • Superstar

are automatically seeded into the feature final.

White Top Qualification

White tops must qualify through the heats.

  • Qualification is based on points scored across the heats

  • The top scoring white tops go through

  • Maximum grid: 32 cars

This means:

  • Some white tops qualify for the final

  • Some may not

Race Count

  • All white tops receive 3 heat races

  • Those who qualify for the final will race 4 times

Summary

The two thirds system ensures:

  • Fair track time for all drivers

  • Manageable race numbers

  • A clear and structured route into the feature final

If anything is unclear, speak to an official on race day.
