The first of our two big weekends features the Junior M1WSS British Championship held at Buxton Raceway. Normal points will be scored to form the grid.

This will consist of two qualifying heats followed by a closed grid rolling start final.

The qualifying heats will determine the front section of the grid, with the highest points scorer tossing a coin prior to the championship race. (If equal Points the driver with the highest place in a heat will toss the coin, If all results are the same they will toss a coin to decide who will decide the grid toss).

If they win the toss, the championship grid will line up in normal order with the top points scorer starting from pole position.

If they lose the toss, the full qualifying grid will be reversed. If the Grid is reversed and a novice driver ends up on pole and they do not feel confident enough to start there, they can start from the back of the qualifiers and the grid will be shuffled accordingly.

Any non-qualifiers will line up in graded order five kart lengths behind the main qualifying pack.

The winner of the Junior British Championship will receive a fully painted Front Wing from M1WSS

The following weekend features the Senior Sky Direct British Championship at Skegness.

This championship will be decided through qualifying points accumulated over both days of racing.

Again, the highest points scorer will toss the coin to decide whether they start from pole position or whether the full qualifying grid will be reversed.

This race will also use a bumper-to-bumper rolling start format, with any non-qualifiers starting as a separate pack behind the main qualifiers.

Please be aware that for both the Junior and Senior British Championships, any red flag stoppage within the opening two laps will result in a full race restart.

However, any kart or karts deemed to be the cause of the stoppage will not be permitted to take part in the restart.

Any kart receiving outside assistance during the stoppage may continue in the restart, including:

  • Refitting a chain

  • Straightening a nerf rail

  • straightening the roof wing.

However, the following will NOT be permitted:

  • Wheel changes

  • Tyre changes

  • Mechanical repairs

  • Major component replacement

IF A KART CAN NOT MAINTAIN ROLLING LAP SPEED OR THEIR CHAIN COMES OFF ON THE ROLLING LAP THEY MUST RETIRE TO THE INFIELD. The British Championship winners will run from minimum Red grade whilst they hold the title.
