With the Stoxkarts Practice and Test Day at Skegness on Sunday 22nd March fast approaching, garages and workshops up and down the country are busy as drivers prepare their karts for the start of the 2026 season.

Winter is always the time when drivers rebuild, repair and refresh their equipment ready for the new year. For some it will be a fresh coat of paint and new sign writing, while others may have taken the opportunity to carry out major work on their Stoxkarts over the winter months.

The Skegness Test Day is always the first chance to see what everyone has been working on.

New Paint Schemes and Fresh Sign Writing

Every year the Test Day brings a number of surprises. New colour schemes, fresh sponsor liveries and completely redesigned cars often appear for the first time in the pits.

Drivers spend many hours during the winter months preparing their karts, and the first public appearance at the Test Day is often when everyone finally gets to see the results.

From subtle changes to completely new looks, the Test Day always gives fans and drivers a

chance to see the latest Stoxkarts paint schemes and sign writing for the new season.

New Drivers and Kart Changes

Another thing the Test Day often reveals is drivers changing karts or moving into new equipment.

Some drivers may have purchased a different kart over the winter, while others may have completed full rebuilds or upgrades ready for the year ahead. It also gives new drivers the opportunity to get their first taste of Stoxkarts before the season begins.

It is not uncommon to see drivers stepping into newly built machines or trying out karts that have changed hands during the off-season.

First Running of the 2026 Season

While the Test Day is primarily about preparation, it also gives drivers a valuable chance to get laps in before the racing season begins.

Engines will be fired up, set-ups checked and drivers will get the opportunity to shake down their equipment ahead of the opening meetings of the year.

For some drivers it will simply be about getting comfortable back behind the wheel, while for others it will be the first proper test of their winter rebuild.

Looking Forward to Seeing Everyone at Skegness

The Stoxkarts Test Day is always an exciting moment in the calendar as it marks the real start of the new season.

We are looking forward to seeing the new Stoxkarts, fresh paint schemes, winter rebuilds and driver changes that appear in the pits at Skegness.

It will be the first chance to see what everyone has been working on during the winter months — and the first hint of what the 2026 Stoxkarts season might have in store.

Budget racing at its best.
