Second-Hand Stoxkarts – Almost a Risk-Free Way Into Oval Racing

One of the biggest strengths of Stoxkarts has always been affordability. Whether you're looking at Juniors or Seniors, getting started doesn't have to involve spending huge amounts of money or taking a massive financial gamble.
Due to the popularity of our hire Stoxkarts, we now have no available for the remainder of the season. We are planning another test day towards the end of the year, but if you want to get on track before then, a good second-hand Stoxkart can be one of the easiest and safest ways to get started.

Buy It. Race It. Sell It.
Unlike many forms of motorsport, Stoxkarts have a strong second-hand market. A good Stoxkart can often be bought, raced for several meetings or even seasons, and then sold again for very close to what was originally paid.
Many owners lose very little money, making Stoxkarts almost a risk-free way to try oval racing.
Buying second-hand also brings other advantages. Stoxarts are often sold with valuable spares packages including wheels, tyres, body panels and mechanical parts, meaning newcomers can start with everything they need rather than building up equipment over time.
Keeping The Second-Hand Market Strong
One of the principles Stoxkarts has followed for many years is that we do not produce brand-new Stoxkarts while good second-hand Stoxkarts remain available.
This helps protect existing owners and keeps the second-hand market buoyant. Owners know that when the time comes to move on or upgrade, there is a healthy market for used Stoxkarts.
It also helps keep the formula affordable for new drivers and families.

Built To Last
Perhaps one of the biggest advantages of Stoxkarts is stability.
Over the last 16 years, the formula has changed very little. Most of the parts used today are the same parts that were being used when the formula first started.
That means older Stoxkarts can easily be refreshed with readily available components and brought back up to modern standards without huge expense.
A well-maintained Stoxkart from years ago can still be competitive today. Current Points Champion 173 Paul Kay's Stoxkart is 15 years old.
More Than Just Racing
Ask any parent or driver involved in the formula and they will tell you that one of the biggest strengths of Stoxkarts is the atmosphere.
The respect shown by experienced drivers towards novices, the help given by families in the pits and the encouragement over the raceceiver radios all combine to make Stoxkarts one of the best introductions to oval racing.
Every driver has their first spin, first bump or first race where they think they'll never get up to speed. That's completely normal.
There is never pressure to race at the front. Novices can run with the black cross from the rear for as long as they need while they build confidence. When they feel ready, they can remove the cross and race from the front. If they want to put the cross back on again, that's absolutely fine too.
Our officials and radio team are there to encourage, guide and support. Nobody is expected to become a champion overnight.

Competence Test For New Junior Drivers
Unless a driver is transferring from another ORCi Junior formula, all new Junior drivers must complete a two-part competence test before racing at their first meeting.
This ensures youngsters understand flags, procedures and safety aspects before taking to the track and helps provide a safe and enjoyable introduction to oval racing.
Confidence, Friendships And Memories
Stoxkarts isn't just about racing.
It's about building confidence, learning racecraft, making friends and becoming part of a community that genuinely wants everybody to enjoy themselves.
For many families, buying a second-hand Stoxkart is not just a purchase.
It's an investment in confidence, friendships and memories.
Budget racing at its best.
