2026 Teng Tools Gold Top Final – Who Will Wear Gold?

The road to Gold is over.

The qualifying rounds are complete, the points have been counted and the grid for one of the biggest races of the Stoxkarts season is beginning to be revealed.

On Sunday 20th September, Stoxkarts head to Buxton Raceway for the 2026 Teng Tools Gold Top Final.

One race. One winner. One driver will leave Buxton wearing Gold.

The Big One

The Teng Tools Gold Top is the most prestigious championships in Stoxkarts.

Throughout the season, drivers have competed in designated qualifying rounds, collecting the points that determine where they will line up for the Final.

There is no draw for grid positions and no qualifying on the day. The work has already been done.

The Final itself is something special.

The field lines up two abreast in a full-grid, bumper-to-bumper rolling start, The Green flag can drop at any point during up to 5 rolling laps, creating one of the most impressive sights of the Stoxkarts season.

When the green flag drops, there are no second chances.

Who Will Wear Gold?

Over the coming days we'll gradually reveal the starting grid, working our way from the back towards that all-important front row.

For now, we're keeping those positions under wraps.

What we can say is that the grid contains a fascinating mixture of experienced Stoxkarts racers, championship contenders, occasional racers, drivers who have stepped up from the Juniors and some who will be experiencing a Senior Gold Top Final for the first time.

Some will arrive at Buxton believing this could genuinely be their year.

Others will start much further back knowing they'll need a lot to go their way.

But this is short oval racing.

Anything can happen.

Can Freddie Do It Again?

There is one driver we can talk about.

38 Freddie Holden arrives at Buxton as the defending Teng Tools Gold Top Champion.

Freddie took the Gold at Buxton in 2025 and will return twelve months later looking to do it all over again.

Winning the Gold Top once is difficult enough.

Retaining it would be something very special.

But there will be plenty of drivers determined to make sure the Gold changes hands.

A Championship With History

The Gold Top has a long history within Stoxkarts, and Teng Tools and the North family have been associated with the championship for more than 17 years.

Over that time, some of the formula's best-known drivers have earned the right to wear the Gold roof and wing.

For the winner, there is also one of the most distinctive trophies in Stoxkarts.

Sitting on top is the superb handmade silver Stoxkart, created by former Stoxkarts racer 27 Chris Butcher.

It's a trophy every driver would love to take home.

On Sunday 20th September, somebody will.

The Countdown Is On

There's now very little left to do.

The qualifying is finished.

The grid has been decided.

And over the coming days we'll continue revealing exactly who will start where as we work our way towards the front row.

Then it's down to the drivers.
