Buxton Weekend – Driver Information Update

This is an important update for all drivers attending this weekend at Buxton. Please read carefully and make sure you understand the running of both days.


Saturday – Key Changes

Start time has been brought forward

  • Pit gates open: 1:30pm

  • Stoxkarts on track: 4:30pm

  • No paid practice for Stockcars


There will be no paid practice for Stoxkarts on Saturday.

There are several operational reasons:

  • Scruitineering is a priority at this meeting and we can not be waiting for drivers who are out on track.

  • Jason, Claire and Christina will be running Stoxkarts, Ian will not be involved.

  • Ian is stewarding the entire meeting for ALL Formulas so will be unable to leave race control (including practice)

  • Claire will be Steward for both Seniors and Juniors.

  • This limits available support in the pits

Because of this, your cooperation is essential throughout the day.


Signing In & Scrutineering (IMPORTANT)


Order is critical:

  1. If you have your licence Sign in with the track first.

  2. Sign in at the trailer

  3. If you do not have your licence then go to the Stoxkarts trailer:

    • Collect licence

    • Pay race fee

    • Sign in with the Track.

  4. Only then go to scrutineering

If you have not signed in with the track, you will not be scrutineered and will be sent to the back of the queue.

Scrutineering Expectations

Start of season = delays likely due to:

  • New helmets

  • New racewear

  • New karts

Please be patient.

Seat checks:

  • Jason & Mick will be checking seat mounting points

  • Make sure yours are correct

  • Remove seat covers where required.


Licence & Engine Seals

Once you receive your licence:

  • You must complete seal numbers

Engine seals:

  • Head – obvious

  • Block – located on the side of the engine, top area near the clutch

Do not leave this incomplete.


Saturday Race Format

  • Juniors first race: 4:30pm

  • Seniors will run back-to-back after Juniors


Seniors:

  • You will have time to watch the junior race

  • Be ready immediately after

Race receivers must be plugged in and ready at all times

After the first two heats:

  • Meeting returns to normal format

  • Gaps between races resume



Pit Procedure

  • Pit gates open at 1:30pm

  • Once inside:

    • No Saving spaces except for the Hire Karts

    • Unload immediately

    • Take karts to 38 transporter for Scrutineering.



Sunday – Back to Normal Format

  • Pit gates open: 9:00am

  • Paid practice: 10:00 – 11:30am

Important:

  • Scrutineering closes at 12:00pm

  • Do NOT stay out practicing and expect late scrutineering

Same process applies:

  • Sign in with track → then scrutineering

General Reminders

  • There will be a number of new drivers

  • Give them time to settle in

  • Help keep things running smoothly

Entry Rules

  • Entry is driver only

  • All passengers must pay

  • Juniors: driver + 1 adult included

Conduct

The aim is simple:

Keep the meeting running smoothly for the promoter

  • Speak to Stockcars officials if you need help

  • Do not go to track staff with Stockcars queries

Final Note

Ian will be in race control all day Saturday and not available in the pits, so please work with:

  • Jason

  • Claire

  • Christina

Your cooperation will make the weekend run properly.
