Freddie Holden Retains the Teng Tools Gold Top!

38 Freddie Holden successfully defended his Teng Tools Gold Top Championship at Buxton Raceway on Sunday 20th September, taking his second consecutive title after a superb battle with Liam Powell.

The 2026 Teng Tools Gold Top Final certainly lived up to its billing, with 34 drivers lining up across 17 rows for the biggest race of the Stoxkarts season.

With 173 Paul Kaye on pole position, 380 Liam Powell alongside him and defending champion Freddie Holden starting from Row 2, there was plenty of anticipation as the field lined up for the rolling start.

The race had barely begun before 242 Mark Bishop rolled on the opening lap, bringing out the red flags and resulting in a complete restart.

When racing resumed, Freddie wasted little time making his intentions clear, taking the lead on Lap 2.

However, Liam Powell was determined to go one better than his runner-up finish in 2025.

The pair produced an excellent battle at the front, with Liam eventually finding a way past Freddie on Lap 13 to take the lead.

For a few laps, it looked as though Liam might finally claim the Gold Top, but Freddie had other ideas.

On Lap 18, the defending champion regained the lead and held on for the remaining two laps to take the chequered flag and retain his Gold Top crown.

Two years running for 38 Freddie Holden!
