Stoxkarts is an exciting and thrilling activity that appeals to people of all ages. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned racer, the adrenaline rush of speeding around a track is hard to beat. However, many assume that Stoxkarts is an expensive pastime. The good news is that although all motorsport costs money Stoxkarts is one of the cheapest entry level forms of motorsport on the ovals and once the kart is bought the running costs make this sport accessible to everyone. This guide will explore various affordable options, tips for saving money, and what to expect when you hit the track.
Finding a Kart
When looking for a kart, the first step is to checkout the for sale section on this site and the Facebook Stoxkarts group. Secondhand karts vary from around £2000 to £3500 depending on age and spares package. Things to look for..
What comes with the Kart: Are there any spares such as wheels and tyres?.
Look for a bundle: Some karts come complete with trailer, spares, transponders Etc.
Join the Facebook group: See when karts are first put up for sale.
Contact HQ: We know about most karts and their history. Whilst this is no guarantee it is a good starting point.

Everything is out in the open as far as cost of spares etc. You do not need to carry lots of spares as the parts trailer is at every meeting. Check out this link for the full price list of parts
Budget Go-Karting Deals: How to Maximise Your Experience
Getting the most out of your budget go-karting experience involves more than just finding cheap prices. Here are some tips to ensure you enjoy your time on the track without overspending:
Book in on time: Late bookings incur a charge.
Buy your own racereciever, Transponder: These can be hired on the day on a first come first served bassis.
Share a Kart: Juniors and seniors can both use the same kart and get a reduction in entry fees if they do.
Take out a full licence: Day licences are expensive and do not give you certain benifits that a full licence does.
Additionally, some tracks offer beginner classes or coaching sessions included in the price, which can improve your skills and make the experience more rewarding.
How Much Does Racing a Stoxkart Normally Cost?
This is almost impossible to answer. We do have drivers that have spent less than £300 in a full season on spares. A kart usually uses about £5 worth of fuel a meeting. It costs £40 entry fee to race at every meeting. In the seniors this covers driver only entry, in the Juniors this covers driver and one parent. Most drivers get at least 3 years from an engine before any work is needed. The average cost of a full rebuild and dyno is usually under £600. The current Gold Top Champion has been running the same engine for 5 years and that is over 130 meetings. Apart from oil changes, spark plug and air filter the only thing that has been done is 2 sets of vale springs which cost less than £60.
Things You Also Need to Consider.
While many people sell Karts with spares, quite often they do not sell their transponders and race gear. Always bear this in mind. These are possible items you may need.
Helmets: Look for certified helmets that fit well decide if you want full face or MX type. Prices start around £50.
Racing gloves: These improve grip and comfort and must be fireproof. Cost around £30 - £100
Racing suits: Must be fire proof prices vary widely from £100 upwards
Footwear: Shoes/boots that cover the ankle bone are compulsory.
Transponder: The AMB 160 kart or car transponder for laps coring are compulsory. Bike transponders do not work.
Racereciever: All drivers must have a one way radio device for listening to race control. There are several types available from £60.
Buying second-hand gear or waiting for sales can reduce costs.
