Buxton Gold Top 20th September

BUXTON GOLD TOP FINAL – A DAY TO REMEMBER! Sunday 20th September 2026 After weeks of preparation, qualifying rounds, grid announcements and build-up, the biggest race of the Stoxkarts season finally arrived at Buxton Raceway. With the Grand Parade and presentations completed, it was straight down to business with the 2026 Teng Tools Gold Top Final, the opening race of the day. And what a race it turned out to be! FREDDIE HOLDS ONTO GOLD! The Gold Top Final was barely underway when 242 Mark Bishop rolled on the opening lap, bringing out the stoppage and resulting in a complete restart. When racing resumed, defending champion 38 Freddie Holden wasted no time getting himself into the lead on Lap 2. With 380 Liam Powell and 173 Paul Kaye amongst those chasing, Freddie certainly wasn't going to have things all his own way. Liam eventually found a way past on Lap 13, taking the lead and putting himself in a great position to claim his first Senior Gold Top. But Freddie wasn't finished! On Lap 18, with just three laps remaining, Freddie managed to regain the lead. He held on through the closing stages to take the chequered flag on Lap 20 and successfully defend his Teng Tools Gold Top title. An excellent race, with the lead changing hands in the closing stages and the championship remaining undecided almost until the chequered flag. 38 Freddie Holden – 2026 Teng Tools Gold Top Champion! 380 Liam Powell had to settle for the runner-up spot, with 173 Paul Kaye completing the podium. 4 Andrew Duddy finished fourth, followed by 818 Richard Howarth and 357 Ben Limb. Congratulations to Freddie on retaining the Gold Top, and well done to everyone who took part in what was a fantastic championship race. SENIOR SUPPORT RACES With the Gold Top completed, there was still plenty of racing to come. 357 Ben Limb took the opening Senior heat ahead of 818 Richard Howarth, with 182 Baz Watson claiming third. But it was the second heat that produced arguably the biggest cheer of the day! 182 Baz Watson, the 2025 Stoxkarts Entertainer of the Year, finally claimed his first race victory! A hugely popular win for Baz, who took the chequered flag ahead of 528 Robert Key Jnr and 503 AJ Hemmingway. And, in typical Baz fashion, he followed up his victory with a rollover in the Feature Final! The Senior Feature was certainly a hectic affair, with several stoppages for rollovers and crashes interrupting proceedings. When the race finally reached its conclusion, 818 Richard Howarth took the victory ahead of 8 Matthew Lloyd and 82 Connor Davison. JUNIOR STOXKARTS The Juniors certainly weren't going to be overshadowed by the Seniors! Their opening heat got off to a chaotic start, with 243 Marlow Preece rolling in the opening stages. Once things settled down, 140 took the opening victory ahead of 18 and 519. The second Junior race saw 18 take the win, reversing the opening race result, with 519 second and 140 third. In the Junior Feature Final, 140 returned to the top step, completing a double victory on the day, with 18 and 519 once again completing the top three. THANK YOU! Special thanks, as always, to Teng Tools and the North family for their continued support of the Gold Top Championship. And finally, congratulations once again to our 2026 Teng Tools Gold Top Champion, 38 Freddie Holden. Two years running. A successful title defence. And another Gold Top Final to remember. That's what Stoxkarts is all about!
