2012 Scottish Series
It is with deep regret that Stoxkarts Ltd have to announce there will be no racing North of the Border in 2012. Scottish Driver Lee Anderson who has run the series for the past couple of years has decided that due to work commitments he willbe unable to continue running the formula. Despite the continued support of the Crimond Committee it was only possible to offer 6 dates to the drivers and with quite a few of the drivers working abroad Kart nubers could not be gaurenteed. Stoxkarts would like to thank both the Crimond Comittee and Lee for their support over the past few years.

Dit of Do!
Unfortunatly Andrew Smith has had to pull out of being guest of honour at our Bit of a Do!. Our event clashes with the BSCDA Dinner Dance, but Andrew had maintained he was still going to attend our Do! However things have changed for Andrew since announcing his retirement and the BSCDA have asked him to be there as they wish to honour him with an award! Andrew has asked us to pass on his sinceer appolagies to everyone who is attending the Do! He would have really loved to have come but as the BSCDA are planning something special he has no choice but to cancel. He was truely upsett at having to give back word.
Stock Market 20th November
Tubeys got the I-Factor!
Mark Tubey capped a superb season by taking the I-Factor Final at Birmingham, along with the Champ of Champs race. Andrew Duddy 4 took the Racequip Sponsored Grand National Championship to top of a great first season in Stoxkarts. Alfie Dover took The Young Guns Championship ahead of Joe Higgins. A first race win for 440 Martin Dawson topped off our 2011 season in style. There is an unprecidented amount of interest being shown in the formula at the moment and with some major announcements due in the next couple of weeks 2012 looks to be the biggest and best yet!!
Stock Market Test Day.
We still have places available for the 2 test sessions we are running at the Stock Market at Northampton raceway on Sunday 20th November. The Cost is £50 but if you then go on to Hire a Stoxkart at one of our meetings* in 2012. If you actually decide to purchase a Kart then you get the full £50 refunded. Young Guns Championship Final
Birmingham on the 5th sees the final of the Junior Young Guns Title. Alfie Dover has a 32 point lead over defending Champion Joe Higgins. A mix up on rules regarding dropped scores has now been sorted. On the Web site it states that the Juniors will drop at least 3 scores but in the rule book this was missed out. However a meeting of Stoxkarts Directors has decided to go with what is written in the rule book so no dropped scores. Next season the drop scores will be added to the rule book. This is unfortunate for Joe as he belived dropped scores would come into play, However he has accepted the directors decision without question.
2012 Fixtures
The 2012 fixture list is almost complete and we hope to publish a PROVISIONAL list shortly. We are just waiting for Incarace/Speedworth to finalise their dates. After contacting all the drivers the Majority would again like to see the season limited to around 20 weekends. There will definatly be at least 1 new track in 2012 and hopefully a couple of double headers thrown in for good measure. Hopefully we can get all this sorted in the next few days.
New Drivers

If you would be interested in sponsoring any of our championships please feel free to get in touch with Ian Higgins via email. ian@stoxkarts.co.uk

Ministox Racers Test Stoxkarts.
We had 3 Ministox drivers testing Stoxkarts at Stoke on Saturday. Phoebe 515 and Frankie JJ 212 Wainman and Hayley Williams 26. Phoebe was very quick in practice but decided not to race as she felt claustrophobic, but Frankie JJ and Hayley both raced. After a couple of spins they both soon got to grips with them and were soon on the pace. It is great to see more Juniors out on track and having a go. Well done to you all.
New Winners at Stoke
Saturday saw 3 new race winners at Stoke. Heat 1 was a first in the formula for Paul Heath 77, Heat 2 saw Jonathan Abbott take his first win and Aiden Healey won the Feature race as well as race 3.
In the Juniors Joe Higgins took 2 heat wins and closed the gap on Alfie Dover in the Young Guns championsip, but it was shale specialist Robert Key who took the feature win.
Congratulations Paul Harrison
All the Stoxkarts team would like to congratulate Paul Harrison #2 on becoming the 2011 Brisca F1 World Champion after 23 years of trying! Paul drove a faultless race on Saturday night at Northampton International Raceway to take the title at long last. The race was a brutal one and Paul really deserved his win and we are all really pleased for all the Harrison family who have been involved with the sport since its inception in 1954. Once again.... well done Paul.
New Web Page.
We have now added another new page to the site, Drivers Profile page. This is work on going but there are quite a few on there so take a look at the ugly mug shots and read a little bit about the mixed and varied drivers we have on board. More will be added over the next few days so keep checking back.
Stoke 16th September
Stoxkarts make their final shale appearance of the season at Stoke. Racing for the Juniors starts at 2pm followed by 3 races for the Seniors prior to the meeting start. There will then be the Seniors Feature as race 5 as part of the main meeting. If the weather is bad we will run all our races prior to the main meeting. Why not get along early and watch 2 meetings for the price of 1.
Movers and Shakers
The new grading List is now live. The Big Mover this quarter is 329 Jonny Lofthouse who has had a superb run of results lately. First time Red for Kelvin Limb 257 who has put in some good performances on the Tarmac. Another to Jump up the charts is 503 AJ Hemmingway who goes from White to Blue. With only 4 meetings till the end of season grading period there could still be a few changes across the board.

First time winners at Birmingham.
Birmingham saw first time wins for Matt Kingston driving the 006 Kart and Wayne Owen 117 in his recently purchased Kart. Jonny Lofthouse 329 took the other win keeping up his recent run of good form. 22 Karts raced at Birmingham with Regular hirer Matt Kingston managing to take his first victory. New hirers were Ex F1, F2 and current Rebels racer Mark Wareham. Marks 2 daughters were also out in the juniors. Another new hirer was Baz Watson ex 1300 Saloon Racer, both drivers raced well and really enjoyed the racing.
The Feature was a first Feature victory for new owner driver Wayne Owen in only his second ever meeting. This meeting was the last one of the current gradings and the next 4 meetings will all count towards the final end of season grading list.
Tubey Makes His Mark!
Mark Tubey drove an almost inch perfect race to take the Gold Top Championship at Skegness. After a good nights racing on the Thursday Tubey sat outside pole sitter Chris Butcher. At the drop of the green Tubey took a wide line and the first bend pile up that many predicted did not happen. Elliot Horn was first tp hit the front but Tubey soon moved him and defending Gold Top Champion Ash Parkinson. Despite 2 race cautions for stranded Karts Tubey was never really threatend, Jonny Lofthouse was runner up with Matty Parkinson putting in a great drive from 12th on the grid to finnish 3rd. Unfortunatly a big collision in the meeting final saw Mark taken to hospital in the track ambulance, but he was released later with nothing more than severe bruising to the ribs. Stoxkarts would like to congratulate all drivers on an excellent weekends racing.
The Big One.
Stoxkarts make their anual apperence at Skegness this week. Thursday 25th sees the last Teng Tools Gold Top Qualifier and Sunday sees the 2011 Teng Tools Gold Top Final. 34 Karts booked in for Thursday hoping to try and get those last few points to get onto the 28 Kart Grid for Sundays big race. Start Time 7.30.
Sunday sees The Teng Tools Gold Top Final as first race of the day with 28 Karts gridding. The Teng Tools Gold Top race will be over 20 laps with a bumper to bumper rolling lap, or more! the steward of the meeting has been told the green can drop on any lap from 1 to 5. This is how it was run last year at Birmingham and the build up of tension was fantastic. Hopefully a bumper Holiday crowd will be there to see the 2011 Teng Tools champion being crowned!
England Take The Bannock Burn Bash.

Team England once again retained the Bannock Burn Bash Trophy despite some confusion over points on the last day. Team Scotland put up a good fight with Neil Kithener taking a win and Lorraine Anderson performing well both days. Scotty Keith and Lee Anderson struggled on the Sunday and a feature win and 3 for Elliott Horn and Mark Tubey nicked it for team England. A great weekend was had by all and we hope to return the Hospitallity when the Scots come down for the Skeggy Gold Top Meeting.
'Mac' Tubey Wins the Scottish.
Mark Tubey drove a near perfect race in the pouring rain to take the Fly Signs Scottish championship. After 2 days of glorious weather the heavens opened 10 minutes before the big race. This saw drivers frantically changing tyre pressures as theKarts were about to line up. Regular hirer James Mitchel sat on pole wih Scot Neil Kitchener outside. Row 2 saw the in form Jonny Lofthouse with tubey outside him. The drop of the flag saw Lofthouse take an early lead with Tubey and Mitchell dropping places. Lofthouse was clipped going into the turn and lost his chain which then handed the lead to Tubey from Mitchell. The front 2 stayed the same with Paul Higgins and Elliott Horn being the big movers from the back of the pack. Higgins was up to 4th from a back row start when his kart puled onto the centre and Horn was on a mission to chase down the top 2. The race finnished with Tubey clear of Mitchell and Horn.
White top award winner was Neil Kitchener and Yellow Top award was James Mitchell. Many thanks to Lee Anderson for sponsoring these 2 awards.
Fly Signs Scottish Championship
The Fly Signs Scottish Championship will be a culmanation of points over the 2 days to decide the line up for Sundays Championship feature race. it will be a closed grid, bumper to bumper with highest points scorer on pole. In addition to the superb Trophy Fly Signs are putting up a free sign job on the winners Kart for 2012.
Scottish Gold Top Qualiier Change.
On the original fixture list the Gold top Qualifier for the English drivers was on the Sunday, however we have changed this to the Saturday night due to the fact that Sundays Championship Feature is not started in grade order so we have moved it to the Saturday meeting where all races are run in Grade order.
Bannock Burn Bash 2011
This weekend sees the Anual pilgramage up to Crimmond for the Fly Signs sponsored Scottish Championship. Just to add a little spice to the racing there is the small matter of the Bannock Burn Bash Trophy which is England verses Scotland. The teams are pulled out of the hat and change over the 2 days withthe highest scoring team recieving the Trophy for 12 Months. Always a great weekend and social gathering it makes the long trip worthwhile.
Close Finish.
More good racing at Birmingham wheels saw wins Going to Kelvin Limb 257 in heat one and a heat and Feature double for first time Hirer Alex Lowe in the 002 Kart. The feature saw the closest finish we have ever seen with Alex taking the win by 0.0014 of a second from Mark Tubey!
New Driver.
We are pleased to announce another new owner driver, Jonathan Abbott has purchased the Darren Birkitt Kart and we be out with it at the Skegness Gold Top weekend. Jonathan has been around oval racing all his life, his Dad Steve is one of Briscas main Stewards. Jonathan has hired a Hotstox and Rebel in the past and deceded to hire a Stoxkart earlier this year. After a few meetings he was hooked and has now taken the plunge and bought his own! Welcome on board Jonathan.
Buxton Tarmac Test Outcome.
3 Drivers travelled to Buxton to test the Karts round the Buxton Track. The biggest surprise for all 3 was how smooth the track was. Turns 1 & 2 were great to drive round but comming out of 2 you are going up hill which does slow the Karts down a little. There is a new piece of tarmac down the back straight which if you catch it wrong does make theKart hop a little, very similar to Northampton. Turn 3 & 4 are similar to turn 1& 2 at Birmingham, you get a slight push halfway round the turn so have to lift. The home straight is really smooth, all 3 of us agreed it is slower than Northampton and will be a great track to race on.
Buxton Tarmac Test.
Stoxkarts will be doing a track test at Buxton Tarmac Raceway on Sunday. Director Ian Higgins Said " Dave Pierce was a great help last year when we needed advice, however they just could not fit us on the fixture list. This year we have been given one date and we hope to put on a great show. I feel however that we need to see how a Kart goes round the superfast Tarmac track so we will be taking a couple of Karts up there on Sunday and see how we get on."
Originally this meeting was part of a 2 meeting weekend with next door Neighbour Buxton Speedway, however with the ever increasing number of Karts and Insurance issues we have had to cancel the Shale meeting but subject to this weekends test we will be there for the October 16th meeting.
New Transporter Arrives
The new Stoxkarts Team Transporter has arrived at Stoxkarts HQ. Brenda, a 7.5ton Iveco Tector will be making her first apperence at Birmingham. She will not be fully kitted out or liveried up due to time restrictions, Hopefully she will be ready for the Skegness Gold Top Weekend.
New Driver on board
We are pleased to announce that we have another new driver joining our ranks. Wayne Owen is based in the Midlands and has been keeping an eye on the formula all year. Having seen us at Northampton on Sunday he has taken the plunge and purchased the brand new Charles Kart. Wayne will be out at Birmingham for his first meeting.
Juniors Page
We have now added a Juniors only page where we can keep you all up to speed with how the Juniors get. Not much on there at the moment but will be adding pics and Junior profiles as soon as possible.
Big Bertha Goes...
Big Bertha the Stoxkarts trusted transporter has been sold! The next few weeks will be hectic for the stoxkarts team finding a replacement. Bertha will still be around the ovals though as she is going to be transporting an F1 and Ministox.
Bertha has been a great asset to Stoxkarts and never failed to make an impression where ever she appeared. Due to now only running 4 hire Karts and the cost of fuel it was decided to downsize. Hopefully the new Transporter will be as reliable as Bertha.. keep your eyes peeled!!

Congratulations to Mark Tubey 43 on his clean sweep at Birmingham wheels. This is the first time a driver has won all the races at one meeting since the formula became Stoxkarts. Saloon Stox World Final
Stoxkarts will be part of the pre meeting entertainment at the Saloon Stox World final at Skegness on 20th August. 6 Karts will be used as part of the pre meeting build up.. final details will be announced nearer the time.
Wet Tyre Testing
We are currently testing a wet weather tyre at the moment with the view to introducing it next year on wet shale and tarmac. If we do introduce the tyre it will only be used if the race director calls a wet race then ALL drivers will have to run it on the drive wheel. Testing will continue for the rest of 2011 with the results up for discussion at the drivers meeting at the end of the season.
Karts for Sale
There is just one Kart availble for sale at the moment. This was a brand new Kart at the start of the season and has never been raced so in effect is a brand new Kart. Check out the For Sale page.
Short Circuit Magazine
Adrian Blackwell will be racing a Stoxkarts at Birmingham on Saturday and will be doing a feature write up for Short Circuit magazine so keep an eye out for his report. 24 Karts now booked in for Brum on Saturday.
Saturday 9th July Birmingham Wheels
Saturday sees the Stoxkarts at Birmingham Wheels as part of the I Factor series. 21 Karts boked for this meeting which will be the lowest turnout of the year, this is due to Holiday commitments and 3 meetings back to back. We are sure there will be a few new names getting on the score sheet. This is the last meeting in this quarters Grading period so there will be a few changes comming for our next meeting. This meeting is also a Gold top qualifier so even though there will be less karts the racing will still be close, fast and hard. Racing starts at 6pm.
Still the Fastest Growing Short Oval Formula
With the recent influx of new drivers and Karts Stoxkarts continues to be the fastest growing short oval formula in the UK. With a grand Total of 55 Karts now in circulation. With the current economic climate people who want to race have realised that Stoxkarts is the most economical recognised contact formula there is. Check out the fixture list and get along to a meeting to see what you are missing out on.

We are pleased to welcome another new owner driver on board. Neil Fry 108 has purchased the ex Ben Hewitt Kart and will hopefully be racing at Birmingham on the 9th July. Neil has been around the ovals a good few years as a V8 driver and spanner man in the F1s too. Welcome Neil.
Coventry 2nd July
The Stoxkarts will be making their only apperence of the season at Coventry this Saturday. Start time of 3pm. Entry to the stadium is the usual price but you can stay and watch the BriscaF1s in the evening too, so in effect 2 meetings for the price of 1.
Northampton Saturday 25th June
Saturday sees the Stoxkarts first outing of the season at Northampton Raceway. The meeting is a Gold top Qualifier and sees 24 Seniors and 5 Juniors taking to the track. The Stoxkarts always put on a good show at the super fast tarmac oval and will hopefully once again be stars of the I Factor series.

Runner up was Carl Heighs who was on form all night and a superb 3rd for Jon Brown 221 who many regard as a Tarmac specialist.

Lots of changes for the first grading period of 2011. Andrew Duddy(4) Leads the chart moving up to Superstar from yellow after an excellent start to the season. A return to Superstar for Carl Heighs(12). Paul Higgins(31) just misses out on Superstar and is a first time Red along with Michael Dent and Robert Key. Team Bailey both end up at Blue after some decent results. Check out the Grading list page and National points Chart.
Lucas Oils
A big thank you to Mark Holt from Lucas oils for presenting the trophys to the first 3 in the final at Barford. The winner Ash Parkinson also recieved a some Lucas Oil, Lucas Chain Lube and Lucas T.shirt. Mark had never seen Stoxkarts race before and was very impressed, so impressed in fact that he is hireing one for his son to race at Coventry. Thank you Mark for your support.
Stoke Test
Stoxkarts directors took 2 Karts to Stoke/Chesterton today to test out the track for the possible addition of dates this year to replace the cancelled Kings Lynn and Buxton Speedway meetings. The conclusion was that the Karts are ideally suited to the new track and and we are now in talks with Startrax to secure 2 dates as an addition to this years fixture list.

June 11th will be the British Drivers Championship and September 17th will see the second visit of 2011. These 2 dates hopefully will go someway to please the shale drivers after the unavoidable loss of Kings Lynn and Buxton Speedway.

ARD Prototype Chassis
A new Prototype kart has been produced by ARD race cars and has had a few run outs so far this season. There are no major differences to the older karts apart from the fact it is now built on a custom built chassis rather than the old Stratos chassis and the rollcage has a slightly different look.

Friday 7th January... ALL SYSTEMS GO FOR 2011
Drivers start your engines.... as we are very proud and struggling to contain our excitement with the news that we have now formulated and officially published our 2011 Fixture List.
Stoxkarts 2011 Fixture List
We hope that both current and prospective new drivers are equally excited by the track variety we have to look forward to in 2011, and we at the Stoxkart origanisation have tried to structure the fixture list such that we do as many meetings geographically so that we can hopefully put on a show in front of a wider audience.
Start times will be updated alongside the fixtures once we have the relevant information to hand.
***OPEN TEST DAY at BIRMINGHAM WHEELS on Saturday 29th January 2011 10.30am - 4pm***
Due to the overwhelming success of our Open Test Day in 2010 - 60 participants and 5 karts sold on the day - we are staging another Open Test Day at Birmingham Wheels on Saturday 29th January from 10.30am - 4.00pm.
We are limiting it to 40 places/participants and it is open to Juniors (12-15) and Seniors (16+) on a first come first served basis. The cost is £15 per head and we guarantee you at least two sessions out on track.
To reserve your place please send an email to racing@stoxkarts.co.uk but we will only guarantee your booking if we receive your cheque for the full amount (dependant on how many places you require) made payable to Stoxkarts Limited by Friday 14th January at the absolute latest. This is because we will be promoting the Test Day at the Autosports Show at the NEC and places are limited. Unfortunately we had quite a few ‘no shows’ from people making email bookings last year who promised to pay on the day. Alternatively you can pay us in cash at the NEC, but please make us aware of this in your email booking.
With 5 karts sold on the day last year... don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!!
NEW for 2011
‘YOUNG GUNS’ JUNIOR RACING LEAGUE (12-16 years of age)
Due to further popular demand the Stoxkarts organisation are extending the ‘Young Guns’ Junior League to 18 meetings on our race calendar for 2011. As mentioned last year, we have now rolled this out and expanded it to run alongside our Senior League at over 80% of our race meetings throughout the season with the help and continued support of the Incarace Promotion. For the proposed 2011 Junior League dates please visit out Fixture List page where the Junior race meetings will be denoted with a JNR in orange.
More details to follow once we have created a NEW dedicated Junior League page on our website. Watch this space!
